Glossy or matte clear stickers clear finish? That is the question…
Glossy laminate Clear Stickers
Sticker Beaver’s glossy laminate is a special finish that we apply to our stickers to give them a shiny and smooth texture, like a glossy waxed paint. We do this by adding a clear, glossy layer of laminate material to the surface of the sticker. This finish not only makes the stickers look cool, but it also adds extra protection and durability.
Clear stickers with Matte laminate
Sticker Beaver’s matte laminate is another special finish that we apply to our stickers. Unlike our glossy laminate, this finish gives the stickers a flat, non-reflective surface, like a matte paint. This is achieved by adding a clear, matte layer of laminate material to the surface of the sticker. While the finish may not be as shiny, it adds a unique and professional look to the stickers. The matte laminate finish also provides extra protection and durability to the stickers, ensuring they last longer.
Die cut or kiss cut?
What’s the Difference Between Die Cut and Kiss Cut for transparent stickers?
Die cutting and kiss cutting are two methods used to cut stickers. Die cutting involves using a machine to cut out a specific shape from the sticker material. This allows for almost any shape to be cut. On the other hand, kiss cutting only partially cuts through the sticker material, leaving it attached to the backing sheet. This makes it easier to peel off the sticker from the backing paper and enables more complex shapes to be cut than with die cut. Kiss cut is a great addition to die cut, giving you more options for creating custom stickers, either single or multiple per sheet, with easy peeling.
It’s essential to note that a kiss cut is always within a die cut, meaning that multiple, custom-shaped stickers can be on one sheet with easy peeling. Die cut is ideal for creating specific shapes, while kiss cut is great for creating unique, custom-shaped stickers that stand out.
Commonly used shapes like circles, squares, rectangles, triangles, and ovals, are super popular, These shapes are great for simple designs or logos that require a specific shape.
Clear Vinyl, a great durable option!
If you opt for clear weatherproof vinyl, your design will be printed on a clear, premium adhesive transparent vinyl and then coated with a glossy, weather-resistant laminate. This layer will help your custom clear vinyl stickers last around three to four years outdoors and longer in interiors.

Made in Canada!
Strong adhesive 100% exterior grade custom stickers, UV and Scratch resistant protection, white ink clear stickers!
Print clear stickers, clear stickers with logo, clear background stickers and clear label stickers information and F.A.Q.
These are made of clear vinyl with pressure-sensitive adhesive, which can be printed with a white ink base. The design’s colors are then printed, leaving some parts translucent (semi-transparent). This allows the parts without the white ink base to blend with the color of the object they are placed on.
They’re mainly used in applications where we want only the part printed on the white ink base to be visible, like on glass, windows, or product branding where the logo and information need to be seen, as well as the product inside the container. For example, orange juice bottle labels that show the logo while allowing the natural juice color to be seen around it. They’re also great for designs that combine solid and translucent parts, like a beach scene where the sand is solid and the sea is transparent blue.
We load the material into our printer and use software to tell the printer which parts of the design to print with white ink first, then which parts to print color on top of the white ink and outside of it. This achieves a solid finish in some areas and a translucent finish in others. Once the printing is done, we add a laminated layer for UV protection, which also protects the ink and gives a glossier or more matte finish. The last step is to cut them as Kiss Cut or Die Cut, then package and ship them. Our proofing process visually simulates the transparent, translucent, and opaque white ink parts of the design, as well as dimensions, shape, and cut for both Kiss Cut and Die Cut.
If your design or application doesn’t require translucent or transparent parts, you might want to consider standard vinyl. It’s completely white, solid, and has higher opacity compared to white ink (100% opacity for vinyl vs. 80% opacity for white ink on transparent vinyl).
Other options that might interest you are metallic finishes like holo, stardust, chrome, and gold, which add a visual touch and metallic effect to your design! Check out our other options.
Gloss and matte laminate are cool ways to add special finishes to labels, making them look awesome while adding extra protection.
Hi-Gloss laminate is a clear, shiny layer that gives labels a slick and smooth look, like glossy polished paint, this finish is reflective, making the label designs really stand out.
Matte laminate is a clear, non-reflective layer that creates a flat, non-glossy look (similar to matte paint), the matte finish gives labels a more stylish appearance, perfect for designs that need a low-key and toned-down look.
Both gloss and matte laminates protect labels and make them last longer against wear and tear.
Choosing between the two finishes comes down to what you think looks coolest for your label design.

Once you upload your file and place your order, our proofing crew will generate a digital proof for you to review and approve when you’re happy with it.
If you already have a file created in a design program, you can simply send it to us. We prefer vector formats, but we can work with any non vector image format as long as it has enough quality/resolution, we will add the cut line shape that you indicated in your order for you!
Also if you are a designer, design guru or have graphic arts experience, you can add an outline of any color to your design and rename it as “cutline”. Then, place it over the design and save it as a vector in PDF, EPS, PSD, or AI format we will make all the necessary adjustments on our end to make it comply with our technical specs!
Due to current printing methods and technologies, our white ink has only about 80% opacity, so our stickers will always have a certain degree of transparency. If you need a solid 100%, it’s best to check out our vinyl stickers.
This permanent adhesive offers maximum adherence and it’s designed for maximum durability. The initial contact is moderate, making it easy to reposition if you applied it wrong and want to remove and reapply it at that time. The adhesive will gradually increase its strength over the next few days after application.
At least 15 degrees Celsius is recommended. It’s important to note that they can be refrigerated or frozen as long as they’re applied to a solid, oil-free, dry surface at room temperature.
